Vienna’s Autumn of Art: A Cultural Season of Inspiration
Each autumn, Vienna transforms into a vibrant stage for creativity, welcoming visitors to experience Kunstherbst – Vienna’s Autumn of Art. From September through November, the city’s historic palaces, modern galleries, and grand museums host a rich program of exhibitions, fairs, and cultural encounters, weaving together tradition and innovation in the heart of Europe.
The season opens with Art at the Park, held in the refined surroundings of the Park Hyatt’s Goldenes Quartier, where more than 20 galleries present works across styles and mediums. Viennacontemporary, celebrating a milestone year, shines a spotlight on Central and Eastern European art at its new home in Messe Wien. Parallel Vienna reimagines the historic Otto Wagner Areal as an experimental hub, merging exhibition and studio spaces in a truly immersive experience.
Highlights continue with Curated by, where 24 Vienna galleries explore the theme “Untold Narratives” through collaborations with international curators. At the same time, Art Vienna brings together 19th–21st century masterpieces within the elegant Orangery of Schönbrunn Palace. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, Fair for Art Vienna offers a carefully curated presentation of modern and contemporary works in the historic Aula der Wissenschaften.
The season culminates in Vienna Art Week (Nov 7–14, 2025), with around 70 partner institutions presenting exhibitions, performances, and discussions under the theme “Learning Systems.” It is here that Vienna’s creative community truly comes alive, inviting reflection, dialogue, and discovery.
